With "Ruin und Rausch", the Neue Nationalgalerie brings together selected works from its Classical Modernism collection that engage with Berlin during the 1910s and 1920s. These decades — defined by the First World War and the Weimar Republic — were marked by a constant oscillation between ruin and intoxication, devastation and exuberance, crisis and creative explosion.
