27 Oct 2020 — 31 Dec 2050 at Friedrichswerdersche Kirche
· Berlin
The Friedrichswerdersche Kirche, designed by Karl Friedrich Schinkel and built between 1824 and 1830, has served as a museum church and branch of the Alte Nationalgalerie since 1987. It offers a unique opportunity to experience 19th-century sculptures in a largely original architectural setting.
The exhibition "Ideal und Form" brings together works from the Nationalgalerie's collection, presenting the ideals, styles, and formal ambitions that defined sculpture across the nineteenth century. The historic church interior provides an exceptional backdrop that enriches the encounter with each work.
