Women Artists from Antwerp to Amsterdam, 1600-1750

This exhibition brings together works by women artists who were active in the Southern and Northern Netherlands between 1600 and 1750. At a time when the art world was largely dominated by men, these painters, draughtswomen, and printmakers carved out remarkable careers — in Antwerp's guild workshops, Amsterdam's merchant circles, and the courts in between.

The show invites visitors to rediscover a generation of artists whose contributions have long been overlooked, presenting portraits, still lifes, history paintings, and miniatures that demonstrate both technical mastery and creative ambition. Together, the works trace a rich, cross-border story of female artistic achievement across the Dutch and Flemish Golden Ages.
