William Klein: YES - Photographs, Paintings, Films, 1948–2013

3 Jun 2022 — 12 Sep 2022 at International Center of Photography · New York
The International Center of Photography presents William Klein: YES - Photographs, Paintings, Films, 1948–2013, a major retrospective surveying the full breadth of one of the most provocative and influential artists of the 20th century.

Spanning more than six decades, the exhibition brings together Klein's groundbreaking street photography, bold graphic paintings, and pioneering films, tracing his restless creative evolution from his early years in New York and Paris to his later experimental work. Known for his raw, kinetic images and refusal to conform to photographic convention, Klein reshaped the visual language of fashion, documentary, and fine-art photography alike.

The show offers a rare opportunity to experience the full range of Klein's output — from his iconic city books to his satirical films — and to understand how his work across multiple disciplines formed a singular, uncompromising artistic vision.
