The Push Pin Legacy

2 Sep 2021 — 6 Feb 2022 at Poster House · New York City
The Push Pin Legacy charts the enduring influence of Push Pin Studios, the legendary New York-based graphic design and illustration collective founded in 1954. Known for its eclectic, witty, and historically referential style, Push Pin broke from the rigid conventions of mid-century modernism and helped define a new visual language for American popular culture.

The exhibition, presented at Poster House in 2021–2022, brings together posters, illustrations, and printed ephemera that showcase the collective's remarkable range — from editorial illustration to advertising, book covers, and beyond. The show invites visitors to trace the studio's lasting impact on graphic design, typography, and image-making that continues to resonate today.
