Tate Britain Commission 2026: Zineb Sedira — When Words Fall Silent, Cinema Speaks

13 May 2026 — 17 Jan 2027 at Tate Britain · London
Tate Britain's annual commission for 2026 is awarded to Zineb Sedira, the Franco-Algerian artist celebrated for her immersive, film-driven practice. In this new work, When Words Fall Silent, Cinema Speaks, Sedira turns to the moving image as a vehicle for stories, memories, and emotions that resist verbal expression.

The commission continues Tate Britain's tradition of inviting leading contemporary artists to create ambitious new works responding to the museum's iconic Duveen Galleries. Sedira's installation promises to bring her signature blend of personal and political history to one of London's most prominent public art spaces.
