Solo show
Shilpa Gupta. What Still Holds
27 Mar 2026 — 3 Jan 2027 at Hamburger Bahnhof – Nationalgalerie der Gegenwart
· Berlin
The starting point of Shilpa Gupta's solo exhibition at Hamburger Bahnhof is the monumental work TRUTH, situated at the intersection of language, power, and control. As visitors move through the oversized letters installed in the exhibition space, the artwork interrogates the mechanisms that shape what we accept as truth — and who holds the authority to define it.
Gupta's practice spans sculpture, video, sound, and interactive installation, and this exhibition brings together works that probe censorship, surveillance, and the fragility of meaning. TRUTH anchors the show as both a physical and conceptual presence, inviting viewers to inhabit language rather than merely read it.
