Otobong Nkanga. I dreamt of you in colours

10 Oct 2025 — 23 Aug 2026 at Musée d'art moderne de Paris · Paris
This temporary contemporary art exhibition brings together the work of Nigerian-born, Antwerp-based artist Otobong Nkanga across two landmark European institutions: the musée d'art moderne de Paris and the musée cantonal des beaux-arts de Lausanne. Presented over 2025 and 2026, the show offers an expansive look at Nkanga's multidisciplinary practice, which weaves together sculpture, textile, performance, and drawing to explore themes of land, resource extraction, ecology, and collective memory.

Titled "I dreamt of you in colours", the exhibition invites visitors into a world where the personal and the political intersect, and where material and metaphor are inseparable. Nkanga's work consistently asks how we relate to the earth and to one another, making this a timely and resonant presentation at two of Europe's most respected modern and contemporary art museums.
