3 Sep 2022 — 22 Jan 2023 at San Francisco Museum of Modern Art · San Francisco
SFMOMA's ongoing New Work series dedicates its spotlight to Toyin Ojih Odutola, one of the most compelling voices in contemporary drawing. Known for her densely worked compositions in charcoal, pastel, and pen, Odutola constructs intricate fictional narratives that probe questions of race, class, gender, and belonging.

This 2022–23 exhibition presents new works that continue the artist's exploration of invented worlds and complex personal mythologies, inviting viewers into immersive visual storytelling that challenges fixed notions of identity and history.
