Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian
3 Oct 2026 — 28 Feb 2027 at Moderna Museet
· Stockholm
This exhibition celebrates the life and work of Monir Shahroudy Farmanfarmaian, one of Iran's most celebrated artists. Renowned for her intricate mirror-mosaic sculptures and geometric compositions, Farmanfarmaian spent decades bridging the ancient craft traditions of her homeland with the language of twentieth-century abstraction.
Her works draw on the mirrored interiors of Iranian shrines and palaces, transforming fragments of glass and mirror into luminous, kaleidoscopic forms. The exhibition offers visitors an opportunity to experience the full breadth of her artistic vision, from intimate early pieces to monumental later works.
