Louis XV, Passions d'un roi
18 Oct 2022 — 19 Feb 2023 at Palace of Versailles
· Versailles
Held at the Palace of Versailles, this exhibition commemorates the 300th anniversary of the coronation of Louis XV. Through a rich selection of artworks, decorative objects, and historical documents, it sheds light on the tastes, obsessions, and private world of a king who reigned for nearly six decades. From his love of the hunt and the sciences to his patronage of the arts and his intimate relationships, the show offers a nuanced portrait of a sovereign long overshadowed by his predecessor Louis XIV and his successor Louis XVI.
