Le Mystère Mithra (Toulouse)
from 14 May 2022 at Musée Saint-Raymond
· Toulouse
Le Mystère Mithra brings to Toulouse a deep dive into one of antiquity's most enigmatic religious movements. The exhibition examines the origins, iconography, and rituals of the Mithraic mysteries — a secretive cult that flourished across the Roman Empire from the 1st to the 4th century AD.
Through archaeological finds, sculptures, reliefs, and reconstructed sacred spaces, visitors are invited to uncover the symbols and beliefs that defined this underground brotherhood, whose influence reached from Persia to the furthest edges of the Roman world.
