L'Envol du dragon – Art royal du Vietnam
from 8 Jul 2014 at Guimet Museum
· Paris
This exhibition presents the royal art of Vietnam, with particular focus on the dragon as a central motif in imperial culture. The dragon, a symbol of power, prosperity, and divine authority, appears throughout Vietnamese royal art, from court ceramics and textiles to architectural elements and ceremonial objects. The display examines how Vietnamese artisans and rulers drew upon both indigenous traditions and influences from neighbouring cultures to create a distinctive aesthetic that defined the Vietnamese court.
