Evil Eye — The Parallel History of Optics and Ballistics is an exhibition that investigates the surprising and unsettling connections between two fields rarely considered together: the science of light and vision, and the technology of projectiles and warfare.
From the telescope to the rifle scope, from the camera to the targeting system, the show traces how instruments designed to extend human sight have repeatedly been co-opted, refined, and reimagined in the service of destruction — and vice versa. The result is a compelling meditation on the dual nature of technology, and on the fine line between observation and aggression.
