Dan Flavin
11 Nov 2026 — 4 Apr 2027 at Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
· Bilbao
This exhibition brings together works by Dan Flavin (1933–1996), one of the most influential figures of Minimalism. Working exclusively with commercially available fluorescent light fixtures, Flavin transformed architectural spaces into immersive environments of color and light.
His deceptively simple arrangements — often titled as dedications to friends, artists, and thinkers — challenge the boundaries between object, space, and perception. The exhibition offers visitors a rare opportunity to experience the quiet intensity and conceptual rigor that define Flavin's singular contribution to twentieth-century art.
