Collection Presentation: A NON-U-MENTAL HISTORY OF M HKA — Part 2: What Must Be Heard
11 Sep 2021 — 9 Jan 2022 at M HKA - Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen
· Antwerp
This collection presentation at the Museum van Hedendaagse Kunst Antwerpen (M HKA) is the second instalment of A NON-U-MENTAL HISTORY OF M HKA, a series that revisits the museum's holdings through an unconventional, non-hierarchical lens.
Subtitled What Must Be Heard, Part 2 shifts attention to sound, testimony, and the voices that have shaped — or been overlooked by — institutional narratives. Rather than a triumphalist account of the collection, the presentation invites visitors to engage with works that challenge, question, and reframe what a museum history can mean.
The exhibition ran at M HKA in Antwerp during 2021–2022.
