Permanent display
Aboa Vetus - Det Gamla Åbo
from 1 Jan 2005
Aboa Vetus - Det Gamla Åbo is the permanent archaeological exhibition at the Aboa Vetus & Ars Nova museum in Turku, Finland. Opened in 2005, it invites visitors to explore the layered history of medieval Turku — known in Swedish as Åbo — through excavated ruins, artefacts, and immersive displays uncovered beneath the museum building itself.
The exhibition brings to life the streets, courtyards, and everyday objects of a bustling medieval city, offering a rare window into urban life in Finland centuries ago.
